Hello, I’m Ireland Fricke, and I bring over 13 years of experience in the equine industry! I am currently pursuing my training certification through the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), with a focus on creating positive, productive partnerships between horse and rider.
One of the most pressing challenges in our industry is the tendency to prioritize winning over the welfare of horses and riders. I believe in a better approach—one that emphasizes ethical, training practices while fostering trust and understanding. My mission is to help both horse and rider achieve their full potential while keeping their well-being at the heart of everything we do.
This philosophy has been shaped by my own journey with my OTTB, Oscar. When I first began working with him, he was deeply afraid of being touched near his face, and at one point nearly flipped over in fear. Through time, patience, and a focus on building his trust, he has grown into a confident 1.15m jumper—and now enjoys scratches behind his ears. His transformation is a reminder of how powerful patience and compassion can be, while also being productive and firm during training.
If you are looking for a trainer who is dedicated to the success and welfare of both horse and rider, I would be honored to work with you. Together, we can create a partnership built on trust, respect, and excellence.
Based in the Twin Cities, Éire Equestrian does not currently operate out of its own facility. I provide private training and lessons at Minnetrista Meadows, where I currently train a rider on my personal horse, Oscar. Additionally, I am happy to drive out to your personal facility or to another location where outside trainers are permitted. I understand the importance of convenience and am committed to providing the same high-quality, welfare-focused training no matter where your horse is located. Whether at your barn or another approved facility, I will work with you to create a program that helps you and your horse achieve your goals.
